Something positive.
Feb. 15th, 2007 11:56 amThis has been sitting in my buffer since the beginning of the week (or was it the end of last week), when
circuit_four passed it along. It is, in fact, a thread on the Something Awful boards, a place I've never experienced personally but which has a reputation for being, well, awful.
This thread, though, doesn't fit that reputation. Someone ran into a homeless kid somewhere and gave him a traditional film camera (ie, not digital) with the condition that the kid take pictures and then send the film back to him. Kid could keep the camera. Apparently the guy never expected to hear back from the kid until the day the film was delivered to his door, no explanation or anything with the pictures. Some of them are really pretty interesting.
And the most striking thing, from my perspective? How un-awful the whole thing was, even the comments on the thread. Maybe I've been unjustly biased? I find that hard to believe, though...
