Viscous Cycle: it sticks to itself.
Jan. 29th, 2007 05:18 pmSo I failed to install Linux on my box today. It seems my discs are well and truly botched, not just the bad cabling I'd had. Which says to me that whatever wireless issues I'm having are effecting my ability to reliably download large files. Anyone out there have Linux CDs/images they could send me? FedoraCore 6 is preferable, but only because that's the distro we're using in the lab; I'll take whatever I can get.
Anyways. I should be working on my project; it's half done. But the failing to install Linux has got me down, and I'm just not feeling up to coding. Which itself is making me feel a little down. I think that if I just suck it up and get to coding, it'll cheer me up and everything will be better, but most of me just wants to make some tea and curl up with a book until Heroes comes on. And the rest of me can't quite develop a convincing argument as to why that's a bad idea.
In other news, I watched "Lucky Number Slevin" last night, which I've been meaning to watch ever since Leslie and Louis mentioned it way back on our PA trip. Good movie, kept me thinking, but it also falls into the same category as Memento, movies that are great and thought-provoking, but lose a fair amount of their flair once you see the twist(s?) at the end. Good movie, though.
Other Netflix stuff: currently have "Fools Rush In," at Anastasiya's suggestion. Next in line is "Jersey Girl," only because I want to see that before I see "Clerks 2," which is just after. Then there's "Pi," "The Manchurian Candidtate," and "Steamboy," and then some 215 other movies lined up. (Yeah, Leslie, the plurality if not the majority of what's on my list is because of movies you've remarked on.) Anyone have suggestions on what (else) should be on the top of my queue?
And before I leave, speaking of Kevin Smith (because we were, even if you didn't know), apparently he's in that up-coming Jennifer Garner film, "Catch and Release." Apparently as comic relief, which is a good place to put him. He's looking good, too; lost a lot of weight since most of the 'recent' pics I've seen of him. So yeah, part of me wants to see that movie just 'cause of him. And part of me just wants to see it 'cause of Jennifer Garner. -grins- And yeah, part of me wants to see it because I'm a sucker for chick-flicks.
And with that I'm off to either (1)read, (2)game, (3)code, or (4)eat. Oddly, it's less likely that I'll choose 3 or 4 than either of the others.
