Well, as of this morning at about 9:30 I went from being an actual member of the work force to just another student. That actually makes me a lot more sad that I would have thought. I'm really going to miss those guys -- Matt, Nick, and Stuart in particular. Good guys. They want me to come back and work for them after I graduate, and I'd like to, but I'm not sure how feasible it is. I mean, not that I've ever been really career-minded, but I don't think they can offer me the kind of salaries or 'upward mobility' (to throw in a random buzzword) that other offers could give me.

Today I planned on getting my apartment cleaned up. I managed to condense a few piles of clothes, trash, and papers, but that was about it. Around noon I went out and spend the afternoon with Leslie, getting food, talking about boys and girls and how I've had a crush on Clea DuVall (currently of Heroes fame, where she plays Agent Audrey Hanson opposite Officer Matt Parkman) since before I knew who she was. (Fun fact: she's the only actress, or girl in general, who I think is attractive both as a blond and a brunette.) We got lunch at a lil' Mexican restaurant that she's partial to, I introduced her to the music of Jonathan Coulton (which she has dubbed Geek Rock), and then we parted ways around 5:00 so she could write her paper and I could come back here and... no nothing particularly constructive. Which I've been doing, rather successfully, for most of the last three hours.

I have approximately three days before I move out of my apartment. I have no apartment in California yet. I have roughly two weeks before I leave on my cross-country trip. I have a regular paycheck from now until the end of September '07. I have a thesis I have to write before then. I wish she would email me back. I have pretty much finished all of my Christmas shopping for my family, nearly all of which should arrive in the mail at my parents' place about the same time I arrive in the car.

And now I am going to: (1)clear my desk, (2)make some dinner and eat it, (3)continue to finish starting to sort my massive M:tG collection, read more of 1984, and/or play video games, in some order or another. All things considered, I'm doing nicely.

Oh, and I'd like to say publicly: congratulations to my friend [livejournal.com profile] mmeubiquitous, who gave birth to a baby girl last week. Yay.

OK, I'm done now.

Ha! That's funny!

If any of you other major geeks out there have been watching Heroes and thought that there was something familiar about Claire Bennett, you just may be on to something! She was the voice of Kairi in SquEnix-Disney's Kingdom Hearts series.

Ha ha! And she was Dot in A Bug's Life! Wasn't that the little baby-ant princess?

And she's, like, 6 and a half years younger than me!
That's crazy.

That makes me feel old.

Being productively unproductive. I thought I'd make this list up, less because I think people care and more because I have a feeling that if I don't I'll forget.

Not in any order and hardly comprehensive:

Alexis Bledel, Michelle Trachtenberg, Clea DuVall, Hayden Panettiere, Nora Zehetner, Larisa Oleynik, Natalie Portman, Stephanie Leonidas, Jena Malone, Emily Browning, Cillian Murphy, Jewel Staite, Lindsay Lohan, Emma Watson, Allison Hannigan, Milla Jovovich, Kate Beckinsale, Alison Lohman, Anna Paquin, Jenna Fischer, Anne Hathaway, Kiera Knightley.
