Not for the squeemish.
Oct. 4th, 2006 07:10 pmSo, right. A number of you know that I've had ingrown toenails for, well, years. I first had them worked on when I was 16, and I've had them looked at some two or three other times in the intervening 7 years. Nothing has really worked, even though I believe I had the root "permanently removed" at least once.
Yeah, ick, I know. I'm the first person to get squicked out by bits like this.
The point is, though, that I went ahead and had something done about them today after needing to do something for about a year. When I made the appointment, I thought it was just going to be a "yup, those are ingrown, you'll need them removed, how's two weeks from Thursday work for you?" kind of appointment. Instead, I went in, then numbed me up, and took care of the whole thing.
So, I am currently nail-free. And it *should* be permanent. But we won't know that for several months. In the meantime, i'm going to enjoy walking pain-free. I think I'll start running again, too. I do so love running.
