What he said was, "yeah, you can ride shotgun if you want."
What he meant was, "I want to kiss you on the mouth."
So right. I've a small confession. This past weekend I took my brother and his former girlfriends to Busch Gardens. An d by 'former girlfriends' I include his current girlfriend, Elizabeth, as well; I just think saying 'current and former girlfriends' is cumbersome to write out.
But that's not really the point. The point is that over the three days I was out there, I developed kind of a crush. On one of Josh's former girlfriends. Which is weird on a lot olf different levels.
Anyways. The long and short of it is... more long than short, I guess. I'd 'met' all of these ladies before. Elizabeth has been around fairly regularly since school let out since she lives relatively nearby (closer than Claire lived to me when we dated). Tahlia is an acquaintence of one of my friends from Christendom and, actually, me and my friend were conspiring on getting her friend and my brother Together as soon as we found they were at the same school. And I talked to Cindy on the phone very early on, right as they began their school year and shortly before I began my Master's program. Cindy, who I'd known the least, is the one I got a crush on.
Crushing is a weird thing. I can't say I have any basis for it; I hardly know Cindy at all. But she's pretty, and I was attracted to her, and I think she was similarly attracted to me. I'd actually be surprised if the others hadn't noticed, though Josh and Elizabeth are always rather occupied with each other. and it's not like anything happened, either, though Cindy seemed as interested in riding shotgun as I was interested in having her there. -shrugs-
She is a pretty Catholic girl who wants a large family and was all-about my sister's kids (Jenny met us at Busch Gardens). But she's also 4 years younger than me, just starting college, a Jersey girl, Josh's ex...
Either way, we've exchanged contact information and, though unlikely given the vast distance between us, it'd be cool to hang out with her again. Either way, it's nice to have a little mutual attraction, a little crush.
Oh, and I was complemented on my voice this weekend. "A nice tenor," or something like that. It was from Elizabeth, so it's only tangentially related to this post, but being told my voice doesn't make peoples' ears bleed (particularly when I choose to sing) is a nice kind of thing. -smiles-
