...which is a little unfortunate, as it's not, but it's still kinda cool.

Funny note: you all remember that short bit recently where I was having issues with my Credit Card company? Basically, it was because I placed a pre-order for City of Villains before I moved, and it's shipping now (after I moved). Actually, I'd made two such orders, because I spotted my brother some money for his copy because he didn't have a credit card what to order it with. SO, there was some confusion with the shipping and billing addresses, all of which had changed. In fact, there was even more confusion than I thought, because I just recieved HIS order, and he's presumably going to recieve my shortly. Generally, as it's the "same game," this wouldn't be a problem, excepting certain little 'extras' he got with his order (tracked by the serial code) that I didn't get, and vise versa.

So, yeah, just amusing.

I skipped one class this morning and, for it, managed to get significant work done in three others. A fair trade, I'd say. We have a project due in Compilers on November 6 which seems trivially simple, and which i'm three steps from completing, so that's cool too. The lab we had for 3600 was a little disappointing, but it was educational, I guess, if someone needed to see how a Virus propagates in order to understand it. But it was still cool.

Brownie points go out to A.P. Fox, with whom I had a rather interesting (if fairly short) philosophical conversation today, which has given me a little more to munch on intellectually, and maybe incorporate into one Snippet or another at a later date. I need to digest it all a bit more before I feel I can respond apropriately, but all very good.
And extra points for not straw-manning certain arguments that, it seems, others were all-too happy to trivialize. (I don't think trivialize is the word I'm looking for...)

All of my fun-money for this month went to buying new CDs. Which is alright, because there hasn't been a whole heck of a lot of other 'fun' to do this month. Half of my CDs came from Amazon, as is usual, and the other half came from a site called "CDBaby." (CDBaby has the coolest "we sent your stuff" email ever.) Some of it was pretty standard: Disturbed's new CD (which I got for "Stricken," and is thus far alright but not spectacular), 'Some Devil' by Dave Matthews (mostly for the two versions of "Gravedigger," which I think is a grand song), and a 'techno compilation' by someone calling themselves The Parallel Project (this I got mostly because of Tom Shear, from Assemblage 23).

I also got a CD by 'E?' (a European techno artist, pretty cool stuff), one from Butterfly Messiah (pretty cool, gothic-minstrel music with female vocals), and several from The Azoic (also female vocals, more techno-goth stuff, really pretty good). Most especially, though, is I got a bunch of "String Quartet Tribute" CDs. Basically, some guys some where decided to take mainstream bands and stuff and plays them with Strings. And being that I absolutely LOVE string music, this stuff is great. I got one on Muse, Coldplay, Disturbed, New Order, and Queen. I've only listened through the New Order CD, but "Bizarre Love Triangle," "Truth Faith," and "Regret" were absolutely beautiful.

And... yeah, I think I'm done.
