Unicron is dead; long live UnicronPrime
Apr. 29th, 2005 01:07 amMy computer broke today.
She was running fine this morning when I did my morning routine -- checking mail, opening trillian, looking up the forums.
Then, this afternoon, I noticed that my Firewall was acting funny. I had just upgraded, so I figured I would uninstall what I had and reinstall a clean one. So, I did -- but when it started to install, it said it couldn't find a .dll that I knew was where it should be. It was finally (after a couple reboots) able to get at the .dll, but then when the new Firewall began loading, it simply restarted my computer. And then, running through the boot-up consitency test, it found some considerable errors on my drive. And in short order, windows would load up, and I would log in, but before the Desktop was up, the computer would restart.
I formatted my C:\, which I'd partitioned for my OS alone for just such an occation. I lose some settings, and had to remind Windows where my programs were, but no real information was long. Lots of Windows updating to do. And it's just been a day-long, emotionally draining ordeal.
I don't want to go to class tomorrow, but I will. And then there's the Conta Formal out at Christendom. And then, nothing really pressing until my three finals next Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
I hope it's all fun.
