Another Weekend
Jan. 25th, 2004 11:56 amWell, Friday after classes I ran down to pick up Josh from home. I also got my paycheck, but I still haven't recieved either of my packages. This makes me angry. But I'll deal with that.
We drove out to Gene's school, and made it there just in time to head out to the movie, thanks to Traffic. We stopped and got food at KFC -- Barbeque Sandwichs (ie the pork-type stuff), which I love, and then out to the Theatre to see The Butterfly Effect. It was, in short, a really good movie. There was a lot more to it than the previews showed. Granted, it really eared it's R rating (that's the first time I've ever been carded to see a movie) what with nudity and cussing... I think, for the most part, it wasn't gratuitous, but I thinkit didn't need alot of the nudity it had... But that's me. It was still grand movie, and we spent the whole car ride back and then some talking about all the little pieces and details, and what exactly was going on. It was grand.
Josh stayed over at my place Friday because he was comming with Curtis, Zack, and I to the Darksteel Prerelease yesterday. On the way back I stopped by Asya's place, on impulse, just t'say g'bye to her before she went back to school. It was nice, and stuff. Anyways, since Chris still has his buddies (who came over on Thursday) over, Josh slept in my bed, and I tried to nest in pile of clothes...
Early yesterday, we all got up and headed out to the Prerelease It was really cool, but perhapse the 4 of us shouldn't have entered the same flight -- my first match was against Curtis, and his last match was against Zack! After the third round we all had 2-1 records (except Josh, who had a 1-2 record -- I had lost to Curtis but won my next two games) and the worst record to get prizes was 3-1. In the end, Zack beat curtis and got six packs (but gave to of them to Curtis, case it was the nice thing t'do), and I won my match, which was really close and high-tension, and also won six packs (but likewise cave Josh one).
We also joined a Team game, but that fell apart rather summarily as we lost 2 of the three matches in both of the first sets, giving us a 0-2 record, so we dropped. Then Zack and Curtis both joined Booster Drafts (I would have, but was out of money after dinner at Chipotle), and they both won first place in their runs. Whee.
Final haul - Zack got 8 packs, Curtis got 6 packs, I got five packs (plus three others that I bought off some guy), and Josh got one pack (plus another one he bought off some guy), in addition to the cards we got for the Tourneys themselves (which is a massive number itself). So, yeah, it was good.
