A good pun is it's own reword.
Jul. 1st, 2003 03:17 pmWell, here I am again. At work. Whee.
Actually, I did get alot accomplished toay. Well, 'alot' in a relative sort of way. I finished writing the jsp file I've been putting off, and then went through and commented on all of it -- s'a good habit to get into, anyways, but with my memory I'm liable to forget what it all means before I get a chance to test it. That is, my boss is still out of town, and will be for days yet, and I doubt my page will be tested before he returns, cause the Server isn't currently up.
Last night we 'fixed' my computer. Or rather, we found what was broken. Sort of. We had already checked the power supply and the case-switches, and last night I pulled the CPU off my board and put it into UnitZero, and it worked! SO, that leaves only the Motherboard which could be having the issues (so far as I can tell), and so I unskrewed that, sent in an RMA (returned merchandise something-or-other) to NewEgg, and we mailed it back today. Within a few days they should be sending me a replacement board, and THAT hone (God willing) should work. In the meantime, I've installed my hard drives into UnitZero, so that I can access my files and play Morrowind until I get my computer put up.
Today I made a friend, who may be really cool t'talk to if I can ever get over my self-conciousness. No one believes me, but I really am a shy-kinda guy. -nods to this- But she, apparently, was online this morning while I was checking posts, and we swapped a few comments back and forth. It was fun.
I made the mistake of letting Gene play Morrowind last night while I tried getting t'bed. See, I was on until 9:00, and I get t'bed at 10:00 (so I can get up at 6:00 for work), and so to be a nice guy I let him have his time on there, instead of having him turn it off when I crashed. this was a mistake not because I couldn't get to sleep (quite the contrary), but because sometime late-late last night (or early this morning) I woke up to the sounds of him STILL playing Morrowind, and had to tell him t'get t'bed, lest I get no sleep at all. Due to this, I think I'm going t'have dad drive home t'day, and perhapse I'll take a nap too.
Oh, and I got my Amazon.com order yesterday. Over the weekend I broke down and made an oder - 4 CDs and 4 RPG books. As far as the CDs go, I got all of Alanis Morissette's albums (Jagged Little Pill, Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie, Under Rug Swept, and the Unplugged one); I'd been in a kinda 'Alanis' mood all last week, and seeing as I had NONE of her CDs (though most of her songs are on my Computer), I went ahead and got them. The books I got were all for White Wolf's Werewolf: the Appocalypse (sister-game to my beloved Mage: the Ascention and Vampire: the Masquerade). I got the Player's Guide to the Garou, the Bonegnawer's Tribebook (Akio all the way, yo!), Glasswalker's Tribebook, and the Get of Fenris' Tribebook. Not that I've read the other, what, 8 books I'd ordered for Mage and Vampire yet, but it's on my to-do list. Along with reading all those 'real' fantasy books. And all the writing I wanted to do, too.
What I need is more time.
