Story of a Lonely Guy
Jun. 7th, 2002 10:21 pmLet's see, I've got a bit of time, what's up in my life?
We've gotten into our new house. No cable modem yet. My 'room' (gonna be the Study Room after I leaves again) is almost all set up. We plan on getting all the computers hooked up in there and then networking them t'gether with a Cable Modem. Yes, this means you may well see multiple Portners on at one time (well, assuming we get on while you East-coasters are awake...)
Have much the fear.
Gene decided to unpack all the books at one today. He went through nearly two dozen boxes in a couple of hours. If only the shelved had been put up first...
On the plus side, this leads to my first anicdote. Or however you spell that. See, way back in the Utopian society of Virginia Beach, much of my time was spent with YOA, my Youth Group. Lots of cute girls, much the fun stuff.
Anyways, there were aot of guys there I rather respected - Tom, Travis, Chris... Among them was a larger guy, taller and broader than me, but not fat, of course. He was really a cool guy, and his name was Stephen May.
Here's the twist. In all the books Gene unpacked, I found a 3rd grade St. Jude's Yearbook, and 8th Grade St. Matt's Yearbook, and a 9th grade CHS Yearbook. Scanning through them, I noticed a certain name and face from St. Matt's - Stephen May. He was in 7th Grade when I was an 8th-Grader. I thought it was really cool, and brings up a hoard of questions. ^^;; I like yearbooks.
In other news, I took initiative nd mailed The Twins today, too - they're 18 as of May 29th, I believe. It's been a long while since we spoke any, Emily inparticularly. I hate losing friends. ><*
Uhm...I'm thinking that's more or less about it... Emi was particularly cute and subtly sneaky t'day. She's great. Until next time!
(*waves* Hi, Mel! Nice t'see you back. ^^)
