The day began at 2:00 last night...
Apr. 12th, 2002 12:41 pm...when I got to bed. I had about 1104 words typed on my paper, and figured I could get the other 96 worked in over the next two weeks.
English class was at 9:00, and I didn't wanna get up, but I had t'go. >< We were doing workshops on our papers, and that's what I spent all last night working on. I got a few ideas for how to fill out my paper, but also learned that I need to prepare an oral presentation for Monday. >< The paper's due on the 22nd, a week from the presentation. It should go well.
After physics class (where we still don't have our tests back) me and Dave walked over to turn in our last CAE Tools project - I'll never have to worry about that class again. Heading out, Dave went to South for some food, and I bumped into a girl from my CompSci class. I, uhm, don't know her name, but she's from Alaska (of all places) and has red hair and (i swear it) lime-green eyes. She lives off campus, but was here early t'get some help, and was just killing time. We talked for a while, about driving and summer and stuff, and it was pretty cool. From there, I went to have lunch at North with Becky and Brooklyn, and later was sitting with Jack and Rich.
I've got work in a little over an hour. >< I don't want t'go in, but I gotta. Maybe I'll be able to relax t'night....

Oh my. Oh my.
Apr. 12th, 2002 04:22 pmSo I'm walking across campus and I see Mary walking with Kristen, and all of a sudden, Mary (who's funny anyways) yells over to me "I have to talk to you!" So I'm like 'talk to me?' and she asks if Katie'd told me yet - and, of course, I have no idea what she's talking about.
So Mary said she was looking through the Freshman Orientation people-book-thingy, where it has our names, senior pictures, and whatever we put as our hobbies. My hobbies, of course were listed as 'computers' and 'role-playing', somply enough.
Kristen begins the question "So, is that like D&D..." and Mary finished "...or is it sex?"
Of course I burst out laughing cause I never considered the second possiblility and, even comming from Mary, I didn't expect that. So I jokingly say "Yes, Mary, I am a sex-maniac." And she says that if you look up 'roll-playing' online you'll find one site on 'computer games' and a hundred others with 'nurse costumes'. O.o Kinky desu.
Kristen said that's just because the internet's dirty, and she figured since it was preceeded by 'computers' it must've been D&D - I rephrased her comment saying that 'yeah, with that I've gotta be some kinda geek'. She said that's not what she meant. It was fun.
Anyways, all that having been said I feel...kinda violated. ^^;;; It is quite amusing, though.
Quick Magic Facts
Apr. 12th, 2002 10:53 pmBeen a slow LJ day t'day. I think a total of three posts were made on my friend's page so far t'day, and not a single comment.
Anyways, a little while ago I mentioned an old card, Contagion, as an Ice Age card that gave out -1/-1 counters. I found said card, and corrections are to be made. It's an Alliances card, and I think it's the most expensive instant I've ever seen (though, blue may be able to top it). It costs 3
, but you can also Pitch it for 1 life and removing a black card in your hand from the game. Anyways, when you cast it, you can put two -2/-1 counters distributed anywhere you choose, so it's worth the high cost.
I also wanted to try and stretch my wits and see if I could not only remember all the Atogs, but what they eat, too. Lostros, I'm counting on you to make sure I get this right.
First of all, it's safe to say that all Atogs share some basic features. All of them cost 1 and 2-colored, they're all 1/2, and each of them eats something to get bigger. Atog, of course, was the first, a little 1/2 who ate artifacts to get +2/+2 until end of turn (the original card didn't have that last line, but it was implied and fixed on later cards). After him came the Foratog, who I think costs more than a normal atog, but I may be wrong. I want to say he was also a little bigger, but he ate forests to get the +2/+2 bonus. Cronatog followed them, and I KNOW he costs more. This new breed of atog actually ate turns to get a +3/+3 bonus, and a resourceful mage I know has used this fact (along with Stasis or other lock cards) to freeze his opponent - and/or deck him. The Black atog, Necratog, came in Weatherlight, and ate creattures in your graveyard for a meaty +2/+2. The circle was completed with Auratog, who ate enchantments for +2/+2.
But the legacy of the Atogs was not finished. With the opening of Odyssey, six new Atogs made the scene. Psychatog is the Black/Blue hybrid, eating cards in your hand and in your graveyard for +1/+1 each (apparently, thinning the blood has adverse effects on their growth). Sarcatog is the Red/Black cousin, eating the graveyard and artifacts. Thaumatog (White/Green) eats lands and enchantments, Lithatog (Green/Red) eats Lands and Artifacts, and Phantatog (White Blue) eats your hand and enchantments.
Finally, the Legendary Atogatog, weiging in at a hefty 5-color casting cost and a beefy 5/5 eats - yup - other atogs. But while they all have set bonuses, the Atog Atog goes up by the power of the little creature he just ate.
