Tina finally agreed to play when Jonny said he wanted to. We went up to her room with the seven decks I'd brought with me - I'd left the other ten at home cause they were old decks, and I wanted to see the new ones in action. Flipping through the colors, Jonny jumped at the Mono-Black sade deck. An Apprentice after my own heart. Tina went for the Blue-Green Threshold deck Claire had used. I was interested in seeing how it would handle in a 3-player game. I took my Mono-red Burn deck, with a toch of Madness for pizazz.
I'm cursed with good luck, it seems. I would hate to play down my game to make it easier on the new guys (I feel that's just falsifying it, I donno) but when I played Claire, Braids was in my first hand, and when I played my two Cousins, Æther Flash was in my first hand. Technically, it deals 2 damage to each creature as it come into play. Simply, it kills everything as they come in.
This broke the game, and I hadn't exactly figured it would. See, I played it in the deck because it keeps cheap creatures off my back. But, both Tina and Jonny were playing decks heavy in lil dudes - Jonny in particular had lil guys that could get really big for a little mana - but they were still small when they hit the table. My timing question would be - does he have time to pump a Shade before the Flash kills it?
Anyways, the Flash shut them down. It backfired oon me when I tried getting out a Petravark, which died on impact (><*), and Tina had me on the run when she cast a 1/3 creature and then a 5/5 creature. jonny was kind enough to Terror the 5/5, and thanks to a slight mistake on Tina's part, I nocked out the 1/3 (the only creature on the board). Jonny was in Kingmaker position, except he had no control over who one. Well, not exactly - he did kill the Tiger, but that could've just been a matter of time.. Soon after wards, thanks to some creative discards and Madness, I knocked off Tina, too. The Forge won.
In the end, it was a long game, and though creatures were shut down early, it was rather entertaining. I wasn't as in control as I'm sure this post makes me sound - I had almost lost a number of times.
