The Incredible Edible Exploding Egg

So, I decided last night that I wanted to have hard-boiled eggs for dinner.

Unfortunately, I ended up getting involved in catching up on emails after
putting the eggs on.
Eggs will explode if they're left on the stove after the water has all
boiled away.
I made hamburgers.

OK,... that is freakin' hysterical!

Love it.

I've discovered (for future reference) that the eggs turn out best if put in the water after it has started to boil, and are left there for 11-12 minutes. Set your watch to beep at you, that will help you remember. :-)

Better luck next time!

Oh I must disagree. If the eggs are in the frige, put them in cold water prior to turning on the stove. Less will crack from the extreme temperature change! :D

Andrew: do you have a pic?

Now I want hard boiled eggs.
...The non-exploding kind.

Boys who cook for themselves amuse me greatly. Perhaps I should type you up some fool proof recipes that are quite tasty?

I wonder if he, like most of the male species, has ever burned kraft dinner. Yes, it's possible.

Ok, I'm not that bad. I just wasn't paying attention to my eggs...

I wish I had some free time while you're down here to make a big dinner and have you assist me in the kitchen.

The urge to teach is overwhelming.

Actually, I think taking up serious cooking would be good for you. It's a hobby that pays off-- especially with the ladies. :)

I'd love to cook with you, if we ever got the opportunity. I really have been meaning to get into "serious cooking," but... The simple answer is "I'm lazy," but I prefer to couch it in terms of I don't know what I'm doing (once you get beyond "searing meat") and when I'm never in the mood to experiment when I'm hungry.

But, yes, I really should just bite the bullet and start making actual meals.

You're such a boy.

In related news.. my boyfriend and his friend had to figure out how to use the toaster oven today. I was too busy to help them. It sounded like they were trying to figure out rocket science.
For example: It took them 3 minutes, of trial and error with all the knobs, to realize how to turn it ON.

I'll admit, I was highly amused. I might have even giggled.

oh! ...and they managed to melt the entire bread bag that was sitting on top of the oven. The apartment smelled fantastic!
