To Fine an Unknown Man

This
is an amusing article. Some politician in Kentucky wants to ban anonymous
posting online (in order to crack down on so-called "cyber-bullying"),
requiring people to register to sites with their real name and email
address, under threat of fines. But... how do you fine someone if you don't
know who they are?

I keep meaning to make a post on cyber-bullying...

Removing anonymous posting would kill the entire joy of the internet. People that fear repercussions from free speech want an anonymous outlet, which the internet provides (to an extent).

Cyber bullies are stupid. They're for people who post too much personal information and take everything too personally. Have a problem with cyber-bullies? Try logging off for a few days!

Then again, I don't exactly stay informed on these sorts of problems.

I disagree with you on both points, I think. But I'll save that for when I make the post.

If you had to enter personal information for every single post you make, or website you'd like to sign up at.. just imagine the information the government agencies can grab on you.

.. and people were freaking about facebook.. psh. at least you have the OPTION to not join it because of privacy issues. If the whole internet was like that I'd be rather unimpressed.

Never mind the government, what about everyone else on the internet?
