Star Wars: Episode Two - The Clone Wars

Hello.

I saw Episode II last night. I am a complete human being last night.
Few points. While it was a good movie, definately better than Episode I (Jar Jar DID get aproximately 11sec of screen time, though...), I still get the same lingering feeling I got at the en of Phantom Menace. And that feeling is - they simply cannot get the same effect as the first three.

It was a good movie. If you wanna see Jedi fightining, this is the movie. If you want to learn who Boba Fett is, this is the movie. f you wanna see Yoda take out a dark lord of the Sith, this is the movie. But even given the massive collection of special effects they have at their disposal, the older, simpler movies still seem more spectacular (well, except maybe Return of the Jedi - I never did like those koala-things much - it all should have ended with The Empire Strikes Back, but that's me).

And on that note, I must vanish back into the cold shadowy void that is Southern California. Until then...!

Totally agree with you, except about Jedi - the Ewoks rock the box. ^_^ ::looks pointedly at Beth, waiting for her to make The Noise::

Somehow, "cold" and "shadowy" are the last words I would expect to describe Southern California...is it that bad?

You know, that's the really funny thing. Neither would I. But the fact remains...

See, it seems the 'good' thing about CSouthern California is that it never gets 'hot'. Kinda like Hawai. 'Cept Hawaii DOES get 'warm', and California, at least the Southern part, has a tendancy to get 'cool'. I didn't expect I'd need long jeans and a light jacket, but durring the evenings they're often required.

As for shadowy, there are three atmospheric conditions around here - Sunny, Overcast, and Foggy. That's all to be said, there.

And finally, Jedi isn't all bad. The whole thing with Vader/Luke/Palpatine is nice. And i think a few other things are good. And the Ewoks aren't completely...'bleh'? But I've never been overly fond of them, s'all.

I used to have little kiddie books about the Ewoks that I'd read when I was, like, 3 or sommat. So the little buggers 'ave always been close to me heart. ^_^

Defensive about "My Man Lucas"...

You do realize of course that Lucas wasn't trying to get the same effect as the Trilogy. He didn't try to do it the same way. And he knew that many wouldn't like the change... And Return of the Jedi rocked so there! :P ...
