Excess of a good thing is not a good thing.

I don't understand. This article, about 'Seven Deadly Virtues'... those aren't virtues. A virtue, as defined by Aristotle, is a mean between two extremes. All this article is saying is that a 'good thing' taken too far is bad. Half of them aren't even really vices, just self-management tips. losing items isn't good, being disorganized isn't good, but being able to manage your anger and frustration is good.

Bah. A poorly-thought, poorly-executed, poorly-titled piece of self-help drivel.

It's just misbegotten pop-psych to the rescue(?).

I looked through the article, and, actually, most (if not all) of them could be labled as vices, if taken to an extreme (duh), but, for the most part, it is basically a "Hey, chill out!" spiel.
