I have a friend (coincidentally named Andrew) who asked me one day if I had seen Mulholland Drive. I said no... to which he immediately responded: "You HAVE to see it!... then you can explain it to me!" So we watched it. He was watching it for the second time, me for the first. And we STILL have no idea what happened in that film. It is crazy. But I do still like it.
There are a number of pieces that I haven't put together yet, but... think what happened was that Diane wanted a life without Camile, or something, and paid a guy to "get it done," that guy being the contact for the creepy voodoo guy behind the Denny's restaraunt. Or something. Like I said, there's a lot I don't get. Typically, I rent these movies from Netflix, watch them once, then throw them back. I think I may hold on to thise one (I'm out of rentals until June 9th anyways) and see if a second watching doesn't help me out.
The thing is, so many scenes are so similar, and the flow of time is hard to follow; half the movie I thought we were in a flashback.
