A Letter Unsent

Truth be told, Suzannah, you've been gone for about a month and I'd just like to see you again. I confess I was really disappointed when you said you wouldn't come to dinner; I'd been looking forward to it for a couple weeks. Partly because you'd mentioned that you liked architecture and I wanted to show off our two houses, and partly just because I hadn't heard from you in a while and I'd begun to miss you. So, yeah, email is wonderful and all (so long as it's real conversation and not just the little notes that get passed around so often), but it'd be really nice to just spend some time together, even if it's just sitting in the shade and talking about dead Greeks.

So, what do you guys think? Good? Overdone? I'm afraid to say I've missed her; I already told her once that I'm quite fond of her, and I don't want to cross any lines if it can be avoided. I donno. What's your opinion?

On your advise alone, it is sent. I think I wanted to send it anyways...

Best of luck, sincerely.

Yeah I think it is best you did, even if just to get it out of your system. I agree with the previous speaker too. Hey, it's probably more uh... stoic than I would have been under the circumstances. :)

Ha! Stoic, me? -grins- It's a side of me most don't often see, but I can be very solemn, and it seems the pain of the slight and the fear of further rejection may have pulled it to the fore. Still, Suzannah herself is quite somber, and we (meaning I) are apt to assume the behaviors of my friends, when around them.

Or something.
We'll see if I'm actually glad I sent it when she replies, likely not before Tuesday (she only has email at work).

Haha! Well that's true! The last time I wrote to someone on something like this it turned into an emotional two page essay, which was I guess somewhat appropriate because she's usually a very spirited and emotional young lady... of course she then replied in a very controlled and quiet manner, which y'know is how I usually am. Poor girl... she was straining so hard.
