The World Is Square?

I've been trying all day to come up with something to write for my story, and nothing. And now that it's after 2am and I decide to get some rest, inspiration hits me. -wince- i'm going to be tired for class t'morrow...

Somehow, that is when inspiration hits me too. That place between being awake, and being asleep is a very creative time for me. I can see whole sketches done in my mind, and only have to sketch them then. I can figure out whatever coding problem I spent hours on that day, and can learn what my next photography series is going to be. I don't know why that is. Lucky for me, it is all stuff that is easy to remember the next day, so I don't have to get up and do it. Although, as far as drawing, I often do. With writing though, I imagine it would be necessary to get up and write it down.

I often tell clients I'll "sleep on it" and I will almost always have their answer the next day.

-smiles- The most frustrating thing about is was that I'd wanted to take a nap, but kept pushing it off, rationalizing that I should really be getting something done. Cause, you know, my roomies already think I'm a slacker, and taking a nap when I said I was busy trying to get something accomplished, well... I think, though, that I may try to take advantage of that near-sleep inspiration more often...

Well, for me, but maybe not you, it doesn't work for a nap. Just for a night's sleep. But maybe I'm just odd that way.

Well, the fact of the matter is simply that I didn't actually sleep, I just laid down, and was suddenly wide awake and filled with what to write. So, I suppose, it's one of those can't-force-your-way sorts of things, and rather than *try* to write, I'll just relax and let it come to me.

Great idea!

By the by, I likie the icon, and I'm not much a fan for blinkies. Also, as far as the need to get it written goes, I have a notoriously poor memory at times, but this was more a case that I could not sleep until I got it out, so... Yeah, I really *had* to write it then and there. On the plus side, I woke up really rested, so that's good.

Yes, I understand. I think if it were writing, I would also have to write it that moment. It's just easier when it is something to draw, cuz it stays in my brain, same with an answer to a coding problem or whatever. It is usually the first thing I think of when I wake up. But, with writing a whole chapter, that's a lot to hold in the head all the way through the land of dreams.

Thanks for the compliment on the icon. It took me a minute to search, but I found a non-blinking one for this post!

-laughs- The consideration, while appreciated, is quite unnecessary.  ^_^
