I know I need to work on my cooking.
You don't have to remind me with an ear-splitting buzzer for half an hour straight.

sweetie, why didn't you take the battery out? i mean, if your cooking is causing the smoke, take the battery out while you're working (because *everyone*, while cooking during their lives, ends up setting that thing off a couple times) ... then put it back in after you're done. it helps to have someone fan the smoke alarm, too. a clip on fan might help there. then again, some are just really touchy. :p
