So, here's an Interesting
Article about European scientists experimenting with device that uses a
laser to induce lightning strikes. The article talks about things like
"plasma filiments" and 19th-century kites, but I can't help but imagine a
future where such a device has been weaponized, and ranks of mechanical
soldiers are blown to pieces by laser-guided lightning. I can't imagine it
would be very practical, though.
