Shrek 3: Thumbs up.

So, no, no real update. Just this: despite being a third movie, which is exponentially worse than a sequel, and despite all the room for ruin that comes with it -- despite the fact that Pirates and Spiderman failed, along with most other series in cinema history -- Shrek the Third was actually pretty good. They kept up their record of making the movie enjoyable for kids without being annoying to adults -- and in fact, there were parts that were really funny, and their attention to detail and subtle references to life and pop culture was great. I really enjoyed it.

Also, Snow White was probably my favorite character. Particularly at the castle-siege scene.

You mean the Fables comic series thing? Officer Wolfe or someone, kind of a hash-up with modern reality? If so, I just ordered the first couple volumes on Amazon with some of my birthday money. (I also got the early history of Batman and "The Man in the High Castle. I was *going* to get a very interesting anthology of gothic literature, but it was $120, or $55 for paperback. I'll get that next month, I think.) 'Way dark' is definitely up my alley, especially regarding fairytales and such.

Also, Shrek 3: Snow White + Led Zeppelin's 'Immigrant Song.' It was very cool.
