A breath of fresh air.

My room is small. My computer runs and the place gets stuff and, in time, begins to reek of codemonkey. An hour ago the air was stifling and I was dozing. Then it began raining outside. I opened my window and my door to the back porch. It's now cool, breezy, fresh, and the sound of rain in the creek out back threatens to drown out my music.

I love it.

Thank you for inspiring me to open the damn window and get a breath of that here at the office. Granted, mine smells like downtown Boston and is rather colder, but still. Breezy, cool, damp nights fueled some of the very best times of my life. Warmish spring and summer nights are absolutely sorcerous. I wish to god I weren't doing transcription, so I could put on some Miles Davis podcast or something.

I've been doing that for a couple of nights as well. My room gets all the heat from the house so it's already starting to get unpleasant up there every night. I open the window and even an hour before sunrise the birds are already chirping. I love the sounds of birds, hence me having 3 crazies and a slightly less crazy.

Nick found it odd that I kept the AC in the window all winter and right when it starts getting warm out I remove it. I would rather sweat it out a couple nights than give up fresh air and the passage to the roof. The roof is an almost magical place to me, I can sit out there and read for hours in the shade of a large tree, occasionally watching clouds go by.
