Welcome to The Arena

I just installed and started a game on Arena, the very first of the Elder Scrolls series by Bethesda Softworks -- the most recent game being Oblivion. I had this game, Arena, ages and ages ago. I'd nearly beaten it once, but Life happened. Now it's up for free download at Bethesda's site (and has been for quite some time) using the DOSBox emulator. I'm not sure I'll keep up with the game, I've been feeling fitful and restless in my entertainment lately, but having it and playing it again makes me very happy.

I did that one a few months back. Good fun to run through it again. however, if you're sufficiently cunning, running a Spellsword and like inventing your own optimized spells the latter part of the game's a cakewalk.

What speed do you have DOSBox set to, to run Arena decently well? It's always either painfully slow or insanely fast for me. Besides that, I can't get sound (though, that's no different from when we first played anyhow).
