I think I'm done.

I just plugged in the 128MB USB drive I've been keeping my NaNoWriMo docs on.
My 7158-word novel-to-be along with other assorted notes and the like.
I just plugged it in, and it's empty.

Fuck.

Dude. ...try it on another comp?

It's worse than not being recognized -- my drive has a few different folders, and it's only the NaNo one that's empty. Everything else is there, even that NaNo folder, but there are no folders.

I'm going to start over, try and recover, but aside from being really depressing, it also means I'm 10,000 words behind now. That's a daunting deficit.

'Daunting deficit' is fun to say.

On the plus side, it gets me out of a corner I'd written myself into, and opens the way for me to implement the storyline I'd developed in a cleaner way, I think.

But still... 10,000 words behind...

That really sucks. What program have you been writing in? Any chance there's a cached copy of it somewhere that the program saved?
