Actually, you reminded me of myself when I'm all ...
"Oh my gosh! It's not Wednesday, I need to feed the fish!"
because I fast the fish on Wednesdays, but I never have the day of the week right. Almost never.
Soup is good for you! I made some homemade chicken and dumpling soup yesterday, had enough leftovers for today, and maybe another serving or two for tomorrow. Good stuff!
Mmmm, I love dumplings... This is just the canned stuff, though, so it's prolly got WAY too much sodium.
I was just on the phone with my friend Anastasiya and I said, "I need a girl who knows what she's doing in the kitchen, so I don't die." She laughed (a lot), but it's the truth!
(OK, yeah, I can cook steak and burgers and fish and eggs and pasta and several sides and I probably won't die left to my own devices, but meal planning is almost totally beyond me.)
The planning is the hardest part. I don't mind the cooking, and I don't mind the cleaning up, I just want somebody to tell me what to cook. My kids are finally starting to get the idea, and put in "requests" all the time now. I love it! I know what they want, I know what to buy, and when it's time to cook, I know what to toss in the pan. Much easier that way.
So remember, when you DO find her ... and you will ... and she asks "What do you want for dinner, dear?" ... and she will ... don't say "I don't care" or "Everything you cook is good" or "Just whip up something easy." Tell her what sounds good, give her suggestions, because she's looking for ideas....
