Today is A Day

Well, last night we had a Labor Day cook-out for the family down at my parents' house, which meant food and family, two things I love. Got to see Christina, who looks really cute with her new braces and redish-hair. Also saw my brothers, Gene and Josh, which is always cool, and my little sisters, who never cease to fascinate me. Unfortunately, the kids decided to smash-up unopened cans of soda on the driveway. This was two-fold upsetting because I wanted a Coke and was stuck with a Corona and because it seems Molly, one of my favored cousins, was the instigator; I don't like being disappointed by those I'm enamoured with.

Mom was a little upset that I wasn't going to stay the night, but I'd already made plans for today and, as impulsive as I can be, I don't like altering plans once they're made. This is part of why I'm hesitant to make plans, in great part, and would almost sooner play everything by ear. I've also decided that, as I've been aware of for some time, I don't like when people appeal to my emotions. I think it really makes sense, considering the sort of person I am and the way I opperate, but I don't want to go into all that right now.

I got up at 11:00 this morning, and not only was the apartment dead, but the entirety of campus was too -- we had a day off today, so I guess no one intended to do anything at all. I had plans to go to the party/cook-out that Veronica had invited me to go to, at 2:00, so I got up, showered, and tried doing some schoolwork. I failed, and ended up dozing off, but I tried.

Around 2:00 (since her house is just down the street) I called over to Veronica's to make sure the party was still on. She wasn't in, but the girl who answered said, before I'd mentioned anything but my name, "Are you coming to the party? Veronica wanted you to come." So that made me feel good about myself. -beams- I got over there and there were bunches of people, at least half of whom I recognized from Freshman and Sophomore year. Veronica took me around and introduced me to a number of them, then I sat and chatted with a Freshman (we were both slightly intimidated), and then got into a game of Catchphrase, and that was cool. It was the highest concentration of pretty girls I'd seen in a long while!

In addition to seeing Veronica again, and meeting her (taken) cousin Jessi, I also found that my friend Marissa lives there, too! It was great seeing her there, and we took some time to chat and catch up. It was fun stuff, and I invited her out to Conta, if she ever had a free Thursday.

I picked up a copy of City of Heroes this weekend, and activated my account, but the ports aren't open yet. Once they are, I'm gonna go in and make a Scrapper-type character to join Leslie's SuperGroup, Solitudinem Faciunt. I'm thinking a mutant type who got into the gang-scene young, didn't like what they were doing but couldn't 'get out' (psychologically an emotionally, even if they could physically), and was saved by Leslie's Heroine, Gethsemani. Or something.

I see Bonnie tomorrow morning at 9:30, class from 1:30-3:00. If the ports aren't open before I get back, I start getting noisy.
