jackofallgeeks: (Contemplative)

And The Verdict Is.

Soon My Friend Test will close, but before it does, I'd just like to run down the statistics thus far.

Half of you know what name never to call me. Very good. A fourth of you, I think, were confused - it's OK. The rest: You'll learn.

Most of you know about how far back my longest running friendship goes. A few fell short. A couple reached too far. Most of you, i'm sure, guessed. ><*

The majority of you understand the reality of my first kiss. A couple are a little confused. A couple others are way off base.

The great majority of you, for number four, have become statistics. thank you for your cooperation with my case study. One of you were oh so close. Two of you really knew what you were talking about (or were just lucky).

Most everyone knows what I'd like to do. One of you were just plain silly.

For number 6, most everyone knows how it all plays out. A few of you simply don't get it.

Half of you know where I stand with Austin (definately not if front - that's a joke, laugh). Two of you were just off base. Four of you don't know who Austin is.

Most everyone knows what gags me. Two were quite silly. one was confused.

One third of you know how to finish the Ducks. One of you is sick of the ducks. Another third need to take cold showers and pull their minds out of the gutter. The final fourth know the true meaning behind the ducks (or were lucky enough to stumble on it).

Half of you think I'm wandering aimlessly. Two of you compliment me greatly. One states the obvious. And three hit the head on the nail.

::nods:: That's true. Which is probably why it's used by me in that way. I remember thinking everything was fine, and getting an e-mail from her husband... and thinking that I should have sent that Halloween card sooner... and then being in a cheap hotel in New Orleans, writing a sympathy card...

"It was only one hour ago,
It was all so different then..
Nothing yet has really sunk in..
Looks like it always did..
This flesh and bone..
I grieve, for you..
You'll leave me...
So hard to live on,
Still loving what's gone..
But life carries on, and on ... and on."

You know, for the longest time I didn't watch City of Angels because I'd heard that it tanked at the box office and was a really horrible movie. I'm not fond of N. Cage as an actor, but I like Meg Ryan... so one day I popped in our copy (why we owned it is beyond me) ... and I loved it. It's weird because now, when summer just starts to hit in Northern California, mom and I will go for drives on the back roads. I'll roll down my window and have a very City-Of-Angels moment.

You know that movie was a remake? Er, well, not a remake, but based on another movie, a french one, I think ... that came out a long long time ago? I forget the name of it now, but it's got that guy that played Columbo, I think. ^__^;

I believe the movie you're referring to, Mel, is "Wings of Desire", and it's actually German. ^_^ I expected French too when I first heard about it, though, so don't feel bad!! I've wanted to see that movie since I heard that one of my all-time favorite U2 songs came from it. But I hear it's even sadder than "City of Angels", so I'm questioning, especially as much of a basketcase as I become at movies that move me. I already have to stave of tears whenever I hear "Stay (Far Away, So Close)".

Ponderings

You know, that's at least the second time you replied to me with that subject, and i can't help but ask - what's it mean? Are you literally asking me, or are you trying to make some profound statement? Or do I just think too much? ><* the repition got me thinking, s'all.

And no, I didn't know it was a 'remake'. Mayhaps I'll have to see said "Wings of Desire", ne?

miss cleo says... no, child, it's no special meanin'.

It's a line from the Stevie Nicks song "Crystal" ... It's the only line I can ever remember and I use it too much. I'm big on quotes and song lyrics. Sorry. ^__^;;;;; It's nothing personal.

And now for something completely random:
