Test Run

Well, here I am at home. A Christmas Break test-run, perhapse. Josh, Dad, and I are going to the Army-Navy game t'morrow, and since we're leaving early, I came to stay the night here. I'm going to freeze t'morrow, even with the warm clothes I'm borrowing.

I can't tell if I'm looking forward to break or not. As I said, I'm going to lose my internet access. At least some -- we have DSL, but there's also there's two others fighting for time on this box. He doesn't have a name like Unicron, it just labels him as 'Main Computer.' I'll call him Manny.

Losing internet bothers me, because it is, in great part, my only connection the the majority of my friends. Leslie's in Japan, Rachel's in Ohio, Claire will be back down in Richmond, but without the internet, it'll still be hard to contact even her. I don't like the prospect of losing touch with my friends. Though, I'm supposed to be trying to have coffee or something with each of Claire, Beth H, and Suzannah over break, and Becky C and I have made plans for me to have dinner with them, not to mention Tolkien Day with Anastasiya... I don't know, maybe it won't be to bad.

Mom asked me if I was planning on working at NRL over break. For me, there hadn't been any question -- I owe money for tuition next semester, and I don't nearly have it. The fact that mom questioned the fact... I don't know, it would be nice to have a break. Yeah, I imagine that I'd get bored if left too long, but it would give me more type toward reading and writing and visiting, or smething... Break is only a month long, and I know i'm going to miss a good piece of time in there for Christmas and New Year's...

The Night comes early around here, it seems. After dinner at some time, I went up and read an amazing amount in 'Shade's Children' -- like, ten chapters straight. That's insane, for me. I'm nearly 3/4ths through it, I think. Maybe more. But when I came back to the Here And Now, the door to my room was closed and it was 11:00. I walked into the hall, and it was all black -- no light even from around Josh's or my parent's doors. I had gotten up to get my CD player and pajamas, which were downstairs. I managed to stumble into the vacuum cleaner at the foot of the stairs, and as I passed the kitchen, I saw Tim standing over the blue-white computer screen. I came back here after grabbing my player to check my mail only to find Tim gone and the computer off. I guess he was trying to be sneaky.

I've been typing all of this half-blind.
And it seems I'm listening to Emm Gryner now. What a flashback.
Still no email from Suzannah.
Back to my book, now. Maybe sleep.
