-laughs out loud-
Dude, I LOVE The Intenet Movie Database! I was looking in there for a quote from Star Wars: A New Hope (oddly enough, no one ever uses the Subtitle, which is why, I think, The Matrix didn't even bother), and I saw a listing for StarCraft. So, being that StarCraft (and it's sister, Brood Wars) is my FAVORITE Real Time Strategy game ever, I think to myself, "Self, there's no WAY they made a movie about this that I didn't hear about. That would so rock!" Alas, fair reader, such joy was not to be mine, as there was no movie -- but they DO have all the cool quotes from the game! So I was like "Rock!" anyways. For Leslie's sake, I present:

[The Hummvee has hit a critter]
Lester: Looks like you mashed some poor feller's dog, Sarge.
Sarge: That ain't no dog. It's a Zergling, Lester. Smaller attack Zerg. They shouldn't be out this far unless....oh shit.
[They turn around and see several more Zerg standing between them and the Hummvee]
Lester: I love you, Sarge.

But that's not why I made this post... I think...
I love music. "The Soundtrack of Our Lives," and all that. A friend of a friend (who I've since decided is a really cool guy, for all of the 18 hours I've been aware of him) recently composed a piano piece for said friend, and it was REALLY cool. I had to DL Winamp t'listen to it, but I think MusicMatch can play .ogg's, too. Have I ever mentioned I love piano music? S'what got me into what little rap I can tollerate...

But that's not the point, either. I've always liked Alanis Morissette's music (though I can never spell her name right...), but especially since she got most of her angst and anger out, I can really relate to her songs. REALLY relate to them. Particularly, I was listening to this, and I thought it was really, really cool. -laughs- My brother, Josh, claims not to like her, and I've kinda made it a goal of mine to turn him...

Yeah, this post just ran out of steam...

::giggles:: Oh, Lordy, do I ever love that quote.

Alanis is good, man. Let Josh hear "Still" by her and see what he thinks then.

Yeah, Alanis has SO many good ones - 'Still,' 'Forgive Me Love,' 'You Owe Me Nothing In Return,' 'Your House,' 'Hands Clean,' 'Are You Still Mad,' 'Uninvited' ... There are a few of her songs that bother me, though, most notable being 'Hand in My Pocket' and maybe 'All I Really Want,' though less so the latter.

I really don't know why Josh doesn't like her. Maybe some negative stigma from 'You Oughta Know.'

My favorite by her is undoubtedly "Forgiven", for obvious reasons. After that, I love "Still", the acapella "Forgive Me Love", "Your Congratulations", "That I Would Be Good", "Unsent", and "Joining You". "Front Row" makes me smile (something to do with the movie/love metaphor), and I have a real soft spot for "You Learn".

...and her rendition of "Fake Plastic Trees" is lovely.
