...And says that she and Katie need me to drive them to Blockbuster so they can return their movies - Brooklyn didn't want to take the Metro. Since I had to get out that way myself to return MY video (and I didn't want to go myself, I was definitely up for it.
We went to my Blockbuster first, off of P and 17th. Nothing eventful happened, other than the typical craziness that goes on in this city. Dam DC drivers. Brookie ran my movie down, then we headed out. However, Katie and Brooklyn didn't know where they were going. - Right down South Capitol, you can't miss it. Getting to South Capitol from P and 17th was a trip in itself, involving going down 18th, which suddenly stops about 1/2 way down, turning onto some State Street (I hate those), driving the wrong way back up a one-way street, and finally crossing over the Highway to get to it. But we found it. Now just keep going down, right?
Right. We went down South Capitol. All the way down. So far down that at one point it looked to be a 2 lane highway. We stopped at a gas station, ands they had no idea where what we were looking for was. Katie's sure we were in Virginia Somewhere. We prolly were. So we turned around and went back to DC.
Brookie, who had shotgun, wanted to ask someone else for directions, cause we were somewhere, we just didn't know where. So she rolls the window down at the stop light and says "Excuse me, miss.." And the lady next to us gives her a look like "You did NOT just say something to me." And then ignored us. I smoked her when the light went green. Finally, we pulled up to a McDonald's to ask, but Brookie suggested we ask the Drive Through. ^_^ So we did. The lady there was a lot nicer than I expected, and she helped us out enough to get us in the right direction.
Sadly, thanks to the chaos that is DC, I took a wrong turn and we got pseudo-lost again. Brookie took it upon herself to ask a cop next to us, why asked us to pull over, cause he had to call in to find out where we were talking about. ^_^ Turns out we just had to keep going straight - we couldn't miss it. But it was off Penn. Ave, not South Capitol.
We FINALLY got there, and then headed back to School. again, it was a little trip heading back to North Capitol, but I knew where I was going, so it was all good. And once I'm on North Capitol, I'm as good as home.
The scary thing about this whole ordeal is, I think I'm beginning to understand DC. Weird....
