^_^ People laugh at me because I'm always happy for rain. I would stand out in the rain and just stand there (preferably walking around, but no 'to' anywhere) just to get wet. I love it. And as an added bonus, it feels so good to get back dry and warm. I love rain.
My Romantic bent (as per the Romantic Period, not Romance Novels) also inclines me towards the rain, I think. Or perhapse my bent towards the rain encourages my fascination with the Romantic Period.
This is actually the first True Thunderstorm, complete with lightning and mild thunder, but we've had rain now and again for a while. I love rain. ^_^
(I'm also a Spring Baby. I wonder if that affects much.)
(I'm also a Spring Baby. I wonder if that affects much.)
I think it affects a lot, actually, because, although I am quite partial to the rain and a soft storm in the distance, I am a Winter Baby, and I love nothing more than to sit in the dark, wrapped in a warm blanket, in silence watching the first night snowfall of the season.
-grins- Well, I'm quite a fan of being warm and dark, myself... But I would much sooner watch a storm or listen to the falling rain than have it snow. Not that I particularly dislike now, but that I much prefer rain. So, yeah, I imagine the season you're born into may have an impact on preferences.
However, I know one friend, in particular, who was born in January and really can't stand the snow, as near as I can tell. Of course, she was born in Virginia, and they don't get snow, so...
Oddly enough, though, were I to rate the season, Fall would be my favorite (I love the crisp air) followed by Spring, with Winter just slightly ahead of Summer -- I'm not a great fan of the cold, though it is ever so nice to warm up afterwords, but I simply can not stand to be too hot. Especially it it's hot and humid.
-laughs- Didn't you JUST say, "I love nothing more than ... watching the first night snowfall of the season"?
Yep... I LOVE the 1st untouched blanket of snow that falls peacefully on the one night that it comes without warning, right at the beginning of winter... however, other than that night, I would much prefer a warm spring evening with a rolling thunderstorm, or a cool autumn evening with a light, soft rainfall... So there! :P -laughing-
uhmmm...-raises eyebrow-... really... I had a clever retort to that, I swear...
Ahhh... that's not nice :( No really, when you live somewhere that it starts snowing around Nov. and doesn't stop sometimes until around April (we've been known to have snow in May), no matter how much you may love the snow at the beginning of the season, within a month, you are wishing for a warm spring night with any kind of precipitation that isn't white! ^_^ So leave your suspicions at home, or I will be forced to call you names and tell my mommy on you! :P
