Wow. I'm surprised. I really am.
A new Matchbox Twentry song, and I like it.
I REALLY like it.
I don't think I've liked a Matchbox Twenty song since before they changed their name.
"Unwell" by Matchbox Twenty. I highly recommend.

Sometimes it really downright sucks to be twenty million miles away from the states. (Okay, only 4000, but still...) I've now got this limbo of two years away from American music, and while I've developed the guilty pleasure of the occasional British dance song, on the whole the music over here is pretty subpar. Unless I want to be listening between the hours of eleven and four. Then it really rocks. But that's a rather impractical time to be listening to the radio, even for me.

But you've got bands like Radiohead and Placebo over there!

True, but they never get *played* Songs are on the air for such a short time here. I mean, a popular song in the states will play for a few months before it dies down. Popular songs here have a shelf life of a few weeks, tops.

Are CDs not at your disposal? Radio in general just tends to stink.

Somewhat, but I cannot affort to continually update my CD collection. Also, the CDs I buy tend to be more eclectic things, such as foreign choral music or instrumentals because I can't get them anywhere else.

w00+  You're in England, yes? How's the Techno there? I'm told it's a big sorta thing over in Europe (and it's not here?), but I'm also of the opinion that German's the best Techno.

I would aree with Leslie that some really cool bands are over there -- except that I wasn't exactly aware that Placebo or Radiohead were British. -biiimu- Hey, I know what I like, I claim nothing more.

I'd actually appreciate the Radion a little more if they changed things up like that. as Leslie said, the Radio in general rather sucks. But then, I have to give it a little credit -- had my batteries not died, I probably wouldn't have found "Unwell" or "When I'm Gone" (by 3 Doors Down).
