I think I have a tendancy to leave quicker than I ever arrive.
You see, I visited Leslie this weekend, and I arrived 1/2 an hour before my expected time. I do that.
Leaving, I beat THAT time by nearly an hour.
That's not the first time, either - I got to Claire's very fast both time's I've gone down to see her, but I also left even faster than that.
It's not that WANT to be away...Or maybe it is. Maybe O'm so emotionally charged after saying good-bye that I just want to go, y'know? I just want to get away because I don't want to think about what it might be like if I didn't need to go.
Or maybe I AM thinking of what it's like, and that charges me to go even faster.
But you want to hear about my weekend.
I got out of Work on Friday so I could leave right after class. My last class got out at 1:00, and soon after that I was on my way. We expected me to get there a little after 6 - say 6:15. I managed to get there at approximately 5:45. Now then, for all Leslie was complaining about being said, she looked great when I got there. She came out and met me, and Beth and Rae were inside to greet me, too. I think we went upstairs, ditched my stuff - Beth took a shower and/or got dressed, and then we went out to Dinner.
There seems to me that there's really *nothing* in Salem - we had dinner at a Japanese Steakhouse somewhere 40+ minutes north of Salem. I had a feild day - I got soup, salad, sushi, *japanese-fried-stuff-that-starts-with-a-T-but-I-can't-remember-the-name*, Steak, Chicken, rice - oh man, there is nothing better than a Japanese Steakhouse, I'm sure. Of course, we sat at a table where we could have it cooked right there (very entertaining) and it was just cool.
Near the end of the meal, the waitress came out with a piece pof cake for the guy across from us and sang to him. It wasn't his birthday, but his girlfriend had said it was. Beth then turned to me and said to tell them it was Leslie's birthday, but of course Leslie would have nothing of the sort. just when it seemed the window of opportunity had been closed, however, the waitress came back out with a cake and a song for Leslie. The table was amazed - how did that happen?
Simple. Before anytrhing else, when everyone was watching the guy across the table, singing his "birthday", I caught the waitress's eye and pointed to Leslie. The unspoken request was then answered, and it was so flipping smoothe! Stuff like that doesn't HAPPEN in real life! ^_^ I enjoyed it muchly.
After that, Leslie wanted to go dancing. Sadly, the first two places we looked were having 21+ nights, and us all being 19 and under, couldn't get in. Leslie began to get upset - or re-upset, judging from how she says her day had been going. One last try - a small, uhm, weird little club called "Visa Versa." We got in, for 1/2 the price the other two were charging. We got in there and the other three saw a friend, Javier. Sadly, no one was dancing when we got there, though I suggested the 5 of us just start something. After the girls had gone to the bathroom, though, there was a lone fool dancing on the floor, and us 5 fools decided to join him, making a little knot in the middle of the floor. As I'd expected, we were soon joined by a couple of girls, then a few guys - before too too long, there were massive people dancing. It was all very cool. Then we had to get off stage.
The Drag Show was starting.
Yes, Visa Versa was a Gay Club, and there was a 2-part Drag show, including singing, dancing, and minor skits. I found it all quite hillarious - though it's disturbing how, uh, decent some of those 'girls' looked. Leslie was amazed at how well I was taking it all - laughing, clapping, cheering. I would think Leslie, of all people, would expect me to be secure enough in myself as to not be completely weirded out by that. I mean, think about it - no one there knew I was straight anyways, and they'd all just assume I was gay anyways.
Right Claire?
We left after the smoke started getting thick, but not before we'd spend a good 2 or 3 hours there and had a flipping AWSOME time! We got slurpees and went back to Leslie's dorm, at about 2 or 3 am, hen watched Moulin Rouge till 5, and slept till, what, noon? Two in the afternoon?
And that was Friday.
Saturday we went to see Lord Of The Rings. Again. Don't get me wrong, I love the movie (Arwen in particularly ^_^) but I mean, that's twice in one week, it's a little bit much for me. It was fun though, cause it was me, Leslie, Beth, Rae, Elizabeth, Javier, and Austin. We muddled about themall a bit, saw the movie, and I was told I got some attention from Austin.
We then went back the Leslie's again, had subway and stuffs (VERY MUCH the good stuff) and just kinda goofed off. Austin, I dare say, was flirting with me - and yes, that confirms all your suspitions about his orientation. Again, I didn't mind (though i'm afraid I may have been a tease) and he's really a pretty copol guy. He got away with two pictures, too, so I'm hoping he enjoyed himself. Then we watched the He-Man movie, curtasy of Austin. I feel bad for him, cause we were all joking the movie, and I know that would annoy me. I hope we didn't really insult him. It was a cool movie, though. Whips and chains, my friends, whips and chains.
I don't know WHEN we got to bed Sat night, but we got up at 12. I think. Beth was up at 11, but went back to bed. I was up before the girls, and finally got the nerve to pull out Emily's old letters. That, Beth, is why I was just laying in bed. Thinking. I didn't read them all the way through - I still know what they all say. *sigh*
I think we did something - Leslie, Beth, Rae, and I went to Taco Bell, then back to the room? The hell else did we do? This was TODAY! And I can't remember...
Well, we went to a buffet place for dinner, then Leslie burned me a CD at 'home' before I had to go, a little after 8:00. I got in the car ands took off, and made it back here before midnight. Record Time.
A few things I think I wanted to mention... I'm adding Rae to my friends, and I hope she doesn't hate me for calling her Rae - I've decided I like the name, so unless she absolutely hates the idea...
We talked t'night about a few thing - had some random thoughts. Maybe I'll get to some in-depth sometime. But, it's 1:30, so I feel I must get sleep.
Good Night, all you happy people.
Oh, and I like Deviled Eggs, incase any of you were wondering.
(PS, I was also accused of being a lurker of Nancy's journal, save for the fact that he posted on a night I could not have. Apparently I was mentioned over there - mayhaps I should check it out someday...)
