What will people say

When they hear that I'm a Jesus Freak?

I just had one of the best weekends of my entire life.
It was an awsome retreat with a bunch of really cool people - the kind of people I want to hang out with, but never do, for whatever reason. It was so emotionally charged (as most retreats are) and so full of energy.

Coming back to Reality is always hard. That kind of high just can't last, and you can crash really hard against the banality of mundane life. With any luck, I'll be able to stay in touch with these people and stay true to the goals I've set for myself. It was just so amazing...

One of many things that struck me was the number of people who complimented me for my laugh - it's like if someone came and said "You know that one thing about you that everyone harps on? That one thing that people notice and they say 'there he goes'? Yeah, I really like that." It was really cool. They offer me the Catholic support that I've really been looking for, and I'm so hoping we can stay in touch and not let that end with the retreat.

It almost bothers me in that I feel, in that last year since coming to College, I've rather neglected my Catholic identity. I want to get back into it the way I was before, back with YOA, and even just before getting to College.

Something I'm really interested in is this 'Men's Group' or some such that Pokey was saying they were getting together for next semester, where guys could just go out and do 'guy things' and just generally offer eachother support. And that's, you know, good. Guys need to be able to support eachother, and more specifically I could use some good guy friends.

It was a good weekend.

Quote of the Day: "Everything's OK in the end. If it's not OK, then it's not the end."

Oh no! Not male bonding!! Not good old-fashioned heterosexual male hijinks! What will people say?!

I understand that whole "back to reality" low all too much. The play in this youth theatre just ended, and it always seems to let you down when it ends, despite the fact that everyone's so eager for a break after two insane weeks. You'd understand it more if you were in the theatre, but I digress. I'm a bit cynical, but I wouldn't be surprised if you get some flak from engaging in heterosexual male bonding, but just weather it out if it hits, because people can only get to you if you let them. Well, if I continue, I'll start rambling, and no one wants that.

HOORAY!

Im so glad to hear you had such a great experiance at the retreat. I love going to retreats! Its so awesome how God has laid it on your heart for "male bonding" Its so important for us as Brothers and Sisters in Christ to be there and encourage one another. I dont know where I would be if it wasnt for the amazing friends God has blessed me with over the years since I first was saved. HOORAY for you! *gives off her happiest glowing smile*
